WIPL-D Pro v6.4 - New Increase in Speed
The speed-up is based on the introduction
of the latest optimized numerical libraries for the direct solution of
linear system of equations. This speed-up is especially important for medium and
large problems, as well as all problems requiring multiple
frequency
analysis.
A performance benchmark was run on the example of
a circular shielded dielectric horn antenna. The electrical size of the
structure was increased by increasing frequency. The duration of the
complete simulation performed by WIPL-D Pro versions 6.4, 5.1, 5.0 and 4.1 was measured.
In all projects, Radiation was calculated in 1083 (3 x
361) points. All the benchmark projects were run on a Pentium
4 processor with 3.2 GHz clock rate and 2 GB of RAM.
Compared to the previous benchmark, there are
differences in simulation times for versions 4.1 and 5.0. The new
Pentium 4 has much faster memory access and as a result versions 4.1 and
5.0 run twice faster than on the old Pentium 4.
Due to adaptive domain-wavelength related meshing,
the new feature in v6.4, the number of unknowns for the same antenna is
different than in previous versions. The project modeled with previous
versions with 14946 unknowns requires 13958 unknowns in version 6.4 for
the same accuracy. |
